Coos County, OR. – Official Release: Do you ride in the Oregon Dunes, Blue Ridge, Winchester Trails System, or any other Oregon trail system? Do you have a child between 6 and 16 years old needing their rider safety card for Class III (Dirt Bikes)? Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dune Patrol will be hosting a Class I and Class III rider safety course on April 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The Dune Patrol will be earning their Class III Instructor Qualification, and we need your help by bringing your children to complete the course. After April 19th, Coos County Sheriff’s Office will be able to provide hands-on rider safety certification for youth for Class I, Class III, and Class IV for in-state residents and out-of-state riders.
All riders of all ages are required to complete the online Rider Safety Course and have a valid Rider Safety Card with them at all times while riding. Go to www.rideatvoregon.org/training, click on “ATV Safety Card” at the top left, and complete the training. This is required for out-of-state residents too.
The online portion must be completed for youth ages 6 to 16 prior to attending the hands-on course. Once your child finishes the online portion, sign them up for the April 19th class at https://omraregistration.com/form/?id=20979. After April 19th, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office will post available training days.
