Vancouver, WA. – Official Release: At 3:01 this morning Vancouver fire crews were dispatched to a single vehicle accident on I-205 @ Padden PKW. A 911 caller reported the occupant of the vehicle was pinned inside and the vehicle was on fire. It was later determined that the passerby who called 911, pulled the occupant from the car after cutting the seatbelt and disentangling the person to avoid the fire.
WSP arrived and placed a tourniquet on the driver’s injury. The first fire engine arrived and reported a fully involved car with an occupant laying on the ground next to the vehicle and began fire suppression efforts and caring for the injured driver simultaneously. The driver was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. 2 fire engines and a battalion chief from Vancouver Fire responded with AMR to this accident.
