Oregon – Outgoing US Congresswoman for Oregon’s fifth congressional district Lori Chavez-DeRemer was recently nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as Secretary of the Department of Labor in his new administration.
She posted a statement online addressing a pipe bomb threat made against her family at their home in Clackamas County. This was one of several threats made against recently announced nominees. The Trump-Vance transition team released a statement addressing these threats of violence, calling them unAmerican and expressing a commitment to uniting the nation and ensuring safety and prosperity.
Chavez-DeRemer stated in her post: “Last night, my family and I were targeted with a pipe bomb threat at our Oregon home. Thanks to the quick response of the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, we are safe. We deeply appreciate their dedication to protecting our community, especially as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches. This kind of violence harms not just the intended targets, but entire communities. It is an unacceptable way to express opposition, and it will not deter President Trump and the team he has assembled from doing the work on behalf of the American people.”
