Eugene, OR. – Official Release: At 7:56 p.m. on October 20, Eugene Police responded to Beltline Highway, between W. 11th Avenue, and Roosevelt Boulevard, after a collision between a bicyclist and a Toyota Prius. A man on a bicycle was travelling on the shoulder of Beltline and attempted the cross the highway when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with investigators. Bystanders attempted CPR, however the man died on scene. Lack of lighting equipment on the bicycle may have been a factor in the crash. Eugene Police Major Collision Investigation team responded to investigate. Case 24-15924
