Astoria, OR. – Official Release: Astoria Dispatchers are partnering with Clatsop Animal Assistance to help find permanent homes for pets in their care. This partnership benefits the foster dog, allowing them to socialize and prepare for their forever home, and enhances our workplace. Washington State University conducted a study that found that having a pet nearby in the workplace reduces stress by as much as 15%.
The foster dog will live on the premises since the center is staffed 24 hours daily. Everyone, including dispatchers, police, and records personnel, will contribute to caring for the foster dog, ensuring they receive plenty of exercise. Keep an eye out for us on the Riverwalk, or call 503-325-4411 to schedule a time to come by and visit.
You may also contact the Clatsop County Animal Shelter at 503-861-0737 if you would like more information on her or any other animal they have available to adopt.
You can contact Chief Stacy Kelly at 503-298-2540 for more details.
