Oregon – Former President and current Republican candidate for President Donald J. Trump survived an assassination attempt while speaking at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
It is early on after the incident and detailed information is still unclear. There are reports that the shooter was killed, but official confirmation and additional details have yet been released.
A post on X from official U.S. Secret Service sources confirms that the former President is safe and alive and that the investigation is active.
An statement was posted to Donald Trump’s official campaign website reporting that he is receiving medical attention.

President Joe Biden released an initial statement addressing the incident.
“I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information. Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.”
