Salem, OR. — Two Salem men were taken into custody early Saturday morning following a reported fight involving a firearm at Mikey’s Bar and Grill in downtown Salem.
At approximately 1:35 a.m. on Feb. 7, 2026, officers responded to the bar at 155 Liberty Street NE after receiving reports of a fight involving multiple people and mention of a gun. As officers arrived, a man was observed discarding a firearm near a vehicle before attempting to flee on foot.
Officers chased and apprehended the suspect, identified as Demetre Marseille, 20, of Salem. He was taken into custody without further incident. Police said Marseille had allegedly threatened security staff and patrons with a handgun. During the arrest, officers also located individual bags of suspected cocaine in his possession.
During the same incident, officers attempted to stop a vehicle connected to the altercation. The driver, identified as Edgar Juarez-Juarez, 23, of Salem, fled the scene. The vehicle was later found crashed nearby. Juarez-Juarez and a passenger were transported to Salem Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.
A search warrant was later executed on Marseille’s vehicle. Officers recovered a second firearm, which police said had an obliterated serial number.
Marseille was lodged at Marion County Jail on multiple charges, including Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing, and Unlawful Delivery of Cocaine. Juarez-Juarez was also lodged at Marion County Jail on multiple charges, including Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Attempt to Elude a Police Officer, and Reckless Driving.
The investigation remains ongoing. Further inquiries were directed to the Marion County District Attorney’s Office.
