SALEM, Ore. — A Prineville grocery store is celebrating after selling the winning Oregon’s Game Megabucks ticket worth $3.2 million, earning the family-owned business a $32,000 retailer bonus.
The jackpot-winning ticket for the June 6, 2026 drawing was sold at R & R Grocery and Sporting Goods, located at 940 SE Combs Road in Prineville. The winner, a Prineville resident, chose to remain anonymous.
For store owners Debi and Dennis Morton, who purchased the business four years ago, the sale marks the largest lottery win associated with their store.
“I’ve been telling regulars, it’s our turn,” Debi Morton said. “So now, I’m telling everyone we’re going to concentrate on Scratch-its because we’re due for a big win there. I really believe that I manifested this.”
R & R Grocery has been an Oregon Lottery retailer since 2005 and is well known in the community for its homemade fried chicken. The Mortons said they used part of the $32,000 retailer bonus to reward the store’s nine employees and make a charitable donation, while setting aside the remainder for future business expenses.
“Our goal is to make sure when people come to our store, they are happy when they leave,” Morton said. “If that’s with $3.2 million, then so be it.”
According to the Oregon Lottery, Oregon’s Game Megabucks offers some of the most favorable jackpot odds among major lottery games. The jackpot resets to $1 million after each jackpot win. Earlier this year, two winning tickets matched the numbers in an April drawing, splitting an $11.1 million jackpot.
Lottery officials remind players to sign the back of their tickets to help establish ownership if a ticket is lost or stolen. Jackpot winners are also encouraged to consult a trusted financial planner or other financial professional before claiming their prize. Players have one year from the drawing date to claim lottery winnings.
Since ticket sales began on April 25, 1985, the Oregon Lottery has generated more than $17.8 billion for programs across the state, including economic development, public schools, outdoor school, state parks, veteran services and watershed enhancement projects.
