Medford Outreach Court Brings Legal Services to Resource Fair, Highlights Graduate’s Progress
Medford, OR. — Medford Municipal Court brought its Outreach Court program to the Livability Team’s Fall Resource Fair in October, offering people experiencing homelessness and housing instability an opportunity to address legal matters and connect with support services.
The community session was highlighted in an Oct. 26 city update that also recognized September program graduate Michelle White, who received the first Medford Municipal Court Challenge Coin.
Launched in January 2024, Outreach Court works with social service agencies and community partners to help participants resolve legal issues while accessing housing assistance, behavioral health services and employment support.
The program uses an individualized approach intended to reduce barriers to court access and address challenges that can contribute to repeated involvement with the justice system. Outreach Court does not handle domestic violence, felony or juvenile cases.

According to the city, White received the challenge coin in recognition of her perseverance, accountability and personal progress. She said receiving it “meant the world” to her and that she carries it in her pocket every day.
White described Outreach Court as a source of inspiration and said she recommends the program to others. She plans to complete her peer support certification, with the goal of helping others navigate similar challenges.
The city received the League of Oregon Cities’ 2026 Award for Excellence for the Outreach Court program.
Medford’s announcement highlighted White’s experience but did not provide program-wide figures on graduation rates, housing outcomes or repeat offenses.
Program information and the current court schedule are available on the Medford Outreach Court webpage.
