Bend Police Arrest Warrant Suspect After Four-Hour Standoff
BEND, Ore. — A 46-year-old Bend man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after refusing to leave a home for more than four hours while police attempted to take him into custody on an out-of-state warrant and several local charges.
Bend police responded at approximately 11:24 a.m. on Oct. 21, 2026, to a home in the 900 block of NE Francis Court after receiving information from Deschutes County Parole and Probation officers that a man wanted on a warrant from Idaho was inside the residence.
Officers identified the suspect as Bryan Paul Hill, 46, of Bend. Police said Hill was wanted on a nationwide warrant from Ada County, Idaho, for domestic battery. He was also wanted by Bend police on suspicion of first-degree burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two restraining order violations related to a September incident.
Responding officers surrounded the residence and were able to get two other people out of the home. However, Hill refused to come outside despite repeated announcements over a loudspeaker informing him that he was under arrest.
The standoff continued for more than four hours, prompting the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team to respond to the scene. A large police presence remained in the area while officers worked to resolve the situation.
Following extensive negotiations, Hill agreed to leave the residence.
At approximately 3:49 p.m., Hill exited the home and was taken into custody without incident.
He was transported to the Deschutes County Jail on suspicion of the outstanding warrant, first-degree burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two restraining order violations.
The case is being investigated under Bend Police Department case number 2026-00058716.
