Four Arrested in Bend Assault, Sexual Assault and Robbery Cases

BEND, Ore. — Four people were arrested Wednesday in connection with multiple assault, sexual assault and robbery investigations in Bend and Sunriver, according to the Bend Police Department.

Bend police and the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team served a search warrant Sept. 16 at an apartment in the 1900 block of NW Monterey Pines Drive. Four people were arrested as part of the investigations.

Jonah Dawit Crooks, 19, of Bend, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, two counts of third-degree assault, first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, second-degree criminal mischief, first-degree theft, third-degree robbery and second-degree criminal conspiracy.

Jarixtsa Iriani Johnson, 18, of Bend, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and third-degree assault.

A 17-year-old Redmond resident was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and third-degree assault. Because the person is a juvenile, police did not release their name.

The assault charges against Crooks, Johnson and the juvenile stem from a physical altercation at a house party in the 1600 block of NE Watson Drive in late July. Police said an 18-year-old woman was assaulted by Johnson, Crooks and the juvenile. The victim suffered a broken jaw.

Crooks was also arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault reported at Cassity’s Bar on SW Century Drive on Aug. 23.

According to police, a 21-year-old Bend woman reported that she and Crooks were allowed back into the bar after closing to use the restroom. The woman told police that Crooks sexually assaulted her after she entered the restroom. She reported the incident to Bend police the following day.

Eldon Wilson Miller, 20, of Bend, was arrested along with Crooks on suspicion of a robbery in Sunriver. Miller faces charges of third-degree assault, second-degree criminal mischief, first-degree theft, third-degree robbery and second-degree criminal conspiracy.

During the search of the Monterey Pines Drive apartment, officers said they found a commercial quantity of cocaine, along with a scale and packaging materials consistent with drug sales. Officers also recovered a 9mm handgun.

The arrests are associated with Bend Police Department case numbers 2026-00047023 and 2026-00043484.
