PRINEVILLE, Ore. — One person died after an RV trailer caught fire late Tuesday night at a commercial property on NW Gardner Road in Prineville.
Crook County Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the reported structure fire at approximately 11:37 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25. Firefighters arriving at the scene found an RV trailer fully engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading to two nearby vehicles.
Crews accessed the back-storage lot and extinguished the RV and vehicle fires. A single occupant was found deceased inside the RV.
Crook County Fire & Rescue responded with three engines, an ambulance and two command vehicles, with a total of 12 firefighters.
The Prineville Police Department, Crook County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, Oregon State Fire Marshal and Crook County District Attorney’s Office assisted firefighters at the scene and with the investigation.
Following the investigation, officials determined the fire was accidental. The exact cause of the fire, however, could not be determined.
Officials did not release the identity of the deceased.
