WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ore. — The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has identified the five people killed in a homicide investigation at a rural property outside Forest Grove.
The victims were identified as Mary Elizabeth Kimsey, 85, of Portland; Rowan Karla Kimsey, 60, of Forest Grove; Stella Jade Kimsey, 26, of Forest Grove; Linsey Mae Haraldsen, 26, of Portland; and Alvin Raymond Chu, 27, of Portland. Their next of kin have been notified.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Mary Kimsey was Rowan Kimsey’s mother and Stella Kimsey’s grandmother. Linsey Haraldsen was Stella Kimsey’s best friend, and Alvin Chu was Haraldsen’s partner.
Rowan Kimsey owned and lived at the property on NW Otis Lane. Stella Kimsey also lived there with her boyfriend, 36-year-old Benjamin Charles Parker, who detectives identified as the suspect in the killings.
Parker was later found dead inside his vehicle in Enumclaw, Washington, after local police located the vehicle as part of the investigation. Authorities believe Parker died by suicide.
The Sheriff’s Office said it does not believe there is any ongoing danger to the public.
The investigation began early Saturday, Aug. 22, when deputies responded to 47350 NW Otis Lane to assist the Forest Grove Fire Department following a report of a vehicle fire. Firefighters discovered human remains and requested law enforcement assistance. Responders ultimately found five people dead at the property, along with several domestic animals.
Two cats and two dogs were also found dead. Another cat was found injured and transported to a veterinarian but was later euthanized because of the severity of its injuries. Livestock at the property have since been rehomed.
Sheriff’s Office detectives and the Washington County Major Crimes Team are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The Oregon State Police Crime Lab, Sheriff’s Office forensic personnel and other investigative teams assisted with processing the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation was supported by its Remotely Operated Vehicle Team, Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team, Search and Rescue Team and Tactical Negotiations Team.
Multiple local and state agencies assisted, including the Forest Grove, Forest Grove Police, Beaverton, Cornelius, Hillsboro and Tigard police departments, Oregon State Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Washington County Animal Services, the Washington County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Washington County Digital Forensics Lab and American Medical Response.
Detectives previously said they did not believe the killings were a random act of violence.

The Sheriff’s Office has scheduled an additional press conference for Tuesday, Aug. 25, at its headquarters at 215 SW Adams Ave. in Hillsboro. The exact time will be announced Tuesday.
