UMATILLA COUNTY, Ore. — A 50-year-old Pendleton man has died following a single-vehicle rollover crash Wednesday night on Interstate 84 near Pendleton, according to the Oregon State Police.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:46 p.m. on July 8 near milepost 207 in Umatilla County.
A preliminary investigation determined that a silver Ford Explorer, driven by Isaac Joseph Ciriano Jr., 50, of Pendleton, was traveling westbound on I-84 when it left the roadway for an unknown reason. The SUV rolled twice, ejecting the driver.
Ciriano was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Oregon State Police said he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The cause of the vehicle leaving the roadway remains under investigation.
Traffic on Interstate 84 was affected for approximately 30 minutes while emergency crews investigated the scene.
Oregon State Police were assisted by Pendleton Fire and Ambulance and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
