SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A mobile home was destroyed in a fire Monday afternoon at a Glenwood mobile home park, but the occupant was able to escape without serious injury.
Just before 4 p.m. on June 15, crews with Eugene Springfield Fire responded to reports of a fire at Eugene Mobile Village in the 4700 block of Franklin Boulevard. Initial callers reported a kitchen fire inside a residence.
When firefighters arrived, they found a fifth-wheel RV fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews quickly worked to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes within the park.
The occupant of the RV safely evacuated before firefighters arrived and was evaluated at the scene for injuries. No serious injuries were reported.
Fire officials said the home was a total loss as a result of the fire. The cause of the blaze has not been released.
The American Red Cross is assisting two people displaced by the fire.
No additional information was immediately available.
