UNION COUNTY, Ore. — A 25-year-old Idaho man was killed early Saturday morning after his pickup truck left Interstate 84 and rolled multiple times near La Grande, according to Oregon State Police.
Troopers responded to the single-vehicle crash at approximately 1:38 a.m. on June 13 near milepost 275 in Union County.
A preliminary investigation found that a red Ford Ranger, driven by Morgan Moyle Cluff, 25, of Payette, Idaho, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 84 when it left the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation.
Authorities said the vehicle continued several hundred feet off the highway before rolling multiple times. Cluff was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.
Emergency responders pronounced Cluff dead at the scene.
Investigators believe Cluff was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The incident did not affect traffic on Interstate 84 while emergency crews conducted their investigation.
Oregon State Police were assisted at the scene by the La Grande Fire Department and the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
