GRANTS PASS, Ore. — A 22-year-old Grants Pass man was killed Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Highland Avenue that also left two others injured, according to the Grants Pass Police Department.
Emergency dispatchers received reports of the collision shortly after 8:15 a.m. on June 2 in the 2700 block of Highland Avenue. Callers told authorities that two vehicles had collided and that one of the vehicles caught fire following the crash.
Before first responders arrived, bystanders stopped to assist those involved in the crash. One driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation by Grants Pass Police detectives and a department crash reconstructionist determined that Gabriel Davis, 22, died after his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle.
The two occupants of the second vehicle were transported to Three Rivers Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Authorities credited several agencies for assisting at the scene, including Grants Pass Fire/Rescue, Rural/Metro Fire, American Medical Response, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, Josephine County Sheriff Volunteers, and the Josephine County Medicolegal Death Investigator.
