VANCOUVER, Wash. — Quick action by firefighters prevented a fire from spreading to a nearby home after three outbuildings became fully engulfed in flames Friday evening in east Vancouver.
At approximately 7 p.m. on May 29, Vancouver Fire Department crews responded to reports of an outbuilding fire at 16603 SE Fisher Drive. When the first engine arrived on scene, firefighters found three small outbuildings completely involved in fire.
Crews immediately launched an aggressive attack on the blaze and were able to contain the flames before they reached a nearby residence. Fire officials said the coordinated response successfully limited damage to the three outbuildings.
Multiple units responded to the incident, including four engines, two truck companies, one squad, a battalion chief, and an AMR medic unit.
No injuries were reported among residents, firefighters, or pets. Fire officials also confirmed that no one was displaced as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office.
Following the incident, Vancouver Fire reminded residents to practice fire safety by regularly testing smoke alarms, replacing alarms that have reached their expiration date, and keeping yards and outdoor spaces clear of debris and combustible materials that could contribute to the spread of fire.
