DALLAS, Ore. — A 26-year-old Independence man has been sentenced to more than three years in prison after being convicted of raping and sodomizing a minor female victim in 2021.
Kayin Alexander Carillo was sentenced by Polk County Circuit Judge Rafael A. Caso following a two-day jury trial that concluded May 21. A 12-person jury found Carillo guilty of Rape in the Third Degree and Sodomy in the Third Degree.
Judge Caso imposed a total sentence of 37 months in prison, equivalent to three years and one month. The sentence will be served consecutively to a prison sentence Carillo is already serving.
In addition to the prison term, Carillo will be required to complete a two-year term of post-prison supervision following his release. He must also register as a sex offender under Oregon law.
Authorities said the convictions stem from crimes involving a minor female victim that occurred in 2021.
