KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Crews from Klamath County Fire District 1 responded to a residential structure fire Saturday afternoon in the 800 block of California Avenue in Klamath Falls.
Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 2:15 p.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from a single-family residence. Officials said rapidly spreading fire conditions were threatening nearby homes as crews began suppression efforts.
Responding firefighters quickly deployed hose lines and coordinated operations to contain the blaze while protecting neighboring structures from catching fire.
According to fire officials, crews were able to prevent the flames from fully engulfing an adjacent residence. The nearby home did sustain some damage from radiant heat and fire exposure, but firefighters significantly limited the spread and prevented further losses in the area.
The primary residence suffered extensive fire and smoke damage.
No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
Firefighters remained at the scene for an extended period conducting overhaul operations, extinguishing hot spots, and ensuring the fire was fully contained.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Klamath County Fire District 1 in coordination with the Klamath Falls Police Department.
Fire officials thanked all responding personnel and assisting agencies for their efforts and continued commitment to protecting the community.
