TIGARD, Ore. — A 54-year-old Tigard man has been indicted by a Washington County grand jury on 14 charges related to alleged sex crimes against a minor, authorities announced.
According to investigators, Sithideth Boualywath is being held in the Washington County Jail following the indictment, which includes 12 Measure 11 offenses carrying mandatory minimum prison sentences under Oregon law.
The Tigard Police Department said detectives first learned about the case in March 2026. Investigators allege Boualywath repeatedly abused a minor over a period spanning more than three years.
On April 27, a judge signed a search warrant for Boualywath’s residence. The following day, officers preparing to serve the warrant observed Boualywath leaving the home in a vehicle. Police conducted what authorities described as a high-risk traffic stop and took him into custody without incident before serving the warrant at the residence.
On May 4, a Washington County grand jury indicted Boualywath on the following charges:
- Two counts of first-degree sodomy
- Eight counts of first-degree sexual abuse
- One count of first-degree rape
- Two counts of second-degree unlawful sexual penetration
- One count of using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct
Authorities said they will not release details identifying the survivor or describing the relationship between the survivor and Boualywath.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Unit praised the survivor for their courage throughout the investigation and court proceedings. Investigators also thanked the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Forest Grove Police Department and Beaverton Police Department for assisting with the investigation.
