Combined with timber sales in January and February, BLM generated $25,047,695 in revenue from 94.4 million board feet in the first quarter of 2026.
BLM manages 58 million acres of forests nationwide, including 2.4 million acres of highly productive forest in western Oregon. The agency emphasizes supplying a reliable domestic timber supply, supporting economic security, mitigating wildfire risks, conserving fish and wildlife habitat, and reducing energy production costs.
Each year, BLM forestry programs support roughly 2,000 jobs nationwide and generate over $1 billion for local economies. Forest and woodland ecosystems cover more than 20 percent of BLM-managed lands, and the agency works to ensure these public forests remain healthy, resilient, and available for traditional forest products. In fiscal year 2025, the BLM offered 301 million board feet of timber through new sales, good neighbor agreements, and stewardship contracts.
