MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. — Detectives with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office assigned to an Internet Crimes Against Children task force have arrested a 40-year-old man accused of distributing child sexual abuse material.
Investigators served a search warrant Thursday, April 2, 2026, at a residence in the 700 block of Southwest Halsey Street in Troutdale, where they arrested Josiah Coberley.
Coberley was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on 15 counts of encouraging child sexual abuse in the first degree. Authorities say each count corresponds to a separate recording identified during the investigation.
The case began after MCSO received a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. At this stage, detectives do not believe any of the victims are local.
The investigation remains ongoing and will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office for review.
The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) program is a nationwide network of 61 task forces, representing more than 5,400 federal, state, and local agencies. The program focuses on investigating and prosecuting online crimes involving the exploitation of children.
Officials emphasized that the charges are allegations, and the suspect is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Under Oregon law, including ORS 133.870, jail booking photos are generally not released unless there is a clear law enforcement purpose.
Authorities noted that details in the case are preliminary and may change as the investigation continues.
