Lincoln City, OR. — Two Yamhill County men have been indicted following separate undercover investigations into alleged attempts to engage in sexual activity with minors, according to the Lincoln City Police Department.
On March 13, 2026, Mitchell Isham, 58, of McMinnville, was arrested after initiating sexually explicit conversations with an individual he believed to be a minor. The individual was an undercover officer. Isham allegedly arranged to meet for sex and was arrested and booked into the Lincoln County Jail on two counts of Luring a Minor and two counts of Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the second degree.
That same day, Richard Brotherton, 63, of Amity, was also arrested after engaging in sexually explicit communication with an undercover officer posing as a minor. He was booked into the Lincoln County Jail on a charge of Luring a Minor.
On March 19, a Lincoln County grand jury issued a True Bill indictment against both men, determining there was sufficient probable cause for the cases to proceed to trial.
The investigations were conducted by the Lincoln City Police Department with assistance from the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office and the McMinnville Police Department.
Officials emphasized that such operations are part of ongoing efforts to protect children from online exploitation. Authorities are encouraging parents to monitor their children’s social media use and discuss the risks of communicating with strangers online.
