Beaverton, OR. — Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews responded early this afternoon to a reported residential fire in Beaverton after a neighbor saw white smoke coming from the roof. The incident was dispatched as a first-alarm response.
When firefighters arrived, they found a bedroom fully involved in flames and the home heavily charged with smoke. Crews launched an aggressive interior attack and quickly knocked down the fire, limiting damage to the room of origin and preventing it from spreading throughout the residence.
The homeowners were not inside at the time of the fire. A dog located within the home was unable to be saved and died at the scene.
Firefighters remained on site to complete overhaul operations and confirm no hidden fire remained. Investigators are working to determine the cause. No firefighter or bystander injuries were reported.
