Clackamas County, OR. — Tina Kotek has appointed Kathleen J. Rastetter to serve as Justice of the Peace at the Clackamas County Justice Court, effective January 1.
Rastetter fills the judicial position created by the retirement of Karen Brisbin. She brings extensive experience as a civil litigator and public servant in Clackamas County, where she has served as a pro tem judge and worked for several years in the County Counsel’s office.
In addition to her legal background, Rastetter has longstanding ties to the Clackamas County community, with service spanning both the legal system and broader civic efforts.
Justice of the Peace is one of 11 elected positions in Clackamas County. The remaining elected offices include five County Commissioner seats, as well as the Assessor, Clerk, District Attorney, Sheriff, and Treasurer.
The Clackamas County Justice Court handles violations such as traffic citations, small claims and civil cases involving amounts up to $10,000, and landlord-tenant eviction cases issued within the county.
