Josephine County, OR. — One person was killed and another injured Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 199 in Josephine County, according to Oregon State Police.
Troopers responded at approximately 8:50 a.m. on January 7 to the crash near milepost 10. The preliminary investigation found that a northbound Toyota Tundra, driven by Marisha Lynn Trainor, 52, of Eugene, reportedly swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway, lost control, and rolled multiple times along the highway shoulder before coming to rest on its roof.
Trainor sustained reported minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
A passenger in the vehicle, Teddie Dianne Tibbets, 47, of Selma, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Traffic on Highway 199 was impacted for approximately one hour while investigators worked the scene.
Oregon State Police were assisted by Grants Pass Fire, Rural Metro Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
