Oregon — Joseph Lehman, who describes himself as a blue-collar worker, husband, and father of three from Lebanon, Oregon, has announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Oregon’s 5th Congressional District. Running as a Libertarian for the 2026 midterm election, Lehman says he is motivated by frustration with what he describes as decades of political division, rising debt, overregulation, and a failure by both major parties to represent everyday Americans. He argues the nation needs practical leadership, fair representation for all people, and a renewed focus on unity, and says his campaign will emphasize finding workable middle ground rather than partisan conflict. He released the following statement in a social media post:
Hello. My name is Joseph Lehman. I’m a blue collar husband and proud father of 3. I reside in Lebanon, OR.
Like many Oregonians, I am fed up with the hatred, violence, corruption and division the American people have been plagued with for decades. For far too long we have sat by and watched our country transform from the prosperous nation that ALL American people once thrived in; to the massive debt carrying, unaffordable, over regulated country it is today. Both sides of the aisle share the blame for these most pressing issues.
In times like these, we need strong leadership, representation and unity. That’s why I’ve decided to run for Congress. I’ve declared candidacy for US House of Representatives for Oregon’s 5th Congressional District as a Libertarian in the 2026 midterm election. Together, we can get back to finding middle ground on every issue that suits the needs of ALL Americans.
