Jackson County, OR. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office delivered more than 580 Christmas gifts on Wednesday to the Oregon Department of Human Services Child Welfare office in Medford as part of its annual “Foster the Love” program.
Through the holiday toy drive, the Sheriff’s Office partnered with DHS to collect and distribute gifts to children in foster care throughout Jackson County. The program relies entirely on donations from community members and local organizations.
Sheriff’s Office officials thanked residents for their generosity, noting that each donated gift helps bring joy and a sense of care to children who may be experiencing difficult circumstances during the holidays.
In addition to individual donors, several businesses, schools, and churches hosted donation trees this year, including Chick-fil-A, Heritage Christian Fellowship, Star Body Works, Plectrum Music Company, Butte Creek Baptist Church, Country Roots Salon, Rainey’s Corner Market, Highway Products, and Oakdale Middle School.
The Sheriff’s Office said community support continues to make the “Foster the Love” program a success each year, ensuring hundreds of foster children receive holiday gifts across Jackson County.
