Seaside, OR. — Authorities are searching for a missing man following an early-morning vehicle crash into a residence in Seaside on December 14, 2025.
At approximately 6:03 a.m., the Seaside Police Department and Seaside Fire & Rescue responded to a report of a motor vehicle that had crashed into the garage of a home in the 1600 block of South Franklin Street. When officers arrived, they determined that both occupants of the vehicle had left the scene prior to law enforcement arrival.
Police later located the individual believed to have been driving the vehicle and took that person into custody. A second individual, believed to have been a passenger, has not been located or heard from since the crash.
The missing individual has been identified as 49-year-old Andrew Paul Sargent of Seaside. Due to the severity of the collision and the possibility that he may have sustained injuries, authorities say there are concerns for his safety.
Law enforcement agencies conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area, including a K9 track coordinated through the Clatsop County Sheriff’s Office and a thermal drone sweep conducted with assistance from the Cannon Beach Police Department. Despite these efforts, Sargent has not been located.
Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding Sargent’s whereabouts to contact the Seaside Police Department at (503) 738-6311. Anyone with information suggesting an immediate safety concern is urged to call 9-1-1.
