Oregon — The Democratic Party of Oregon announced its full support for Governor Tina Kotek’s bid for re-election, highlighting what party leaders describe as significant progress on housing, homelessness, family assistance and community programs during her first term.
In a statement, Democratic Party of Oregon Chair Nathan Soltz said Governor Kotek has “delivered on her promise to Oregonians,” pointing to efforts to expand affordable housing, increase shelter capacity, ease rising household costs and fund statewide summer learning programs. The party also emphasized her record on social safety net programs, noting her defense of SNAP benefits and opposition to what it described as “the illegal deployment of troops” in Oregon under the Trump administration.
Soltz said Democrats across the state are mobilizing early, reporting that more than 3,700 volunteers have already signed up for the party’s Neighborhood Leader Program ahead of the 2026 campaign cycle. The party is encouraging additional supporters to join its grassroots outreach operations.
“Governor Kotek’s leadership has undoubtedly moved Oregon forward,” the statement concluded, adding that the party intends to “do everything we can to make sure she is re-elected.”
