Douglas County, OR. — A Douglas County man has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine and illegally possessing firearms, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon announced Tuesday.
Glenn Allen Gearhart, 51, received 168 months in federal prison followed by five years of supervised release.
According to court documents, investigators with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team executed a search warrant at Gearhart’s residence on October 18, 2024. Detectives found methamphetamine, cocaine, drug ledgers, digital scales, packaging materials, four loaded magazines, and ammunition—evidence consistent with drug distribution.
Just before officers arrived, Gearhart attempted to flee, striking another vehicle and crashing into a patrol car. When taken into custody, he had more than $5,000, fentanyl, and a round of ammunition on his person. A search of his vehicle uncovered a stolen pistol, an AR-style rifle, a short-barrel shotgun, another shotgun, and two ammunition cans filled with ammunition.
Gearhart was charged on June 13, 2025, with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine and with being a felon in possession of a firearm. He pleaded guilty on August 5, 2025, to distributing more than 400 grams of fentanyl, more than 500 grams of methamphetamine, and to the firearm offense.
The case was investigated by DINT and the Drug Enforcement Administration and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Sweet.
The prosecution is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a federal initiative focused on reducing violent crime and gun violence through coordinated enforcement and community partnerships.
