Wallowa County, OR. — The Wallowa County Board of Commissioners has rescheduled its public hearing on whether to include the Minam-to-Wallowa Trail-with-Rail Refinement Plan in the County Transportation System Plan. Originally set for December 3, the hearing will now take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Cloverleaf Hall, 600 NW First Street in Enterprise.
Commissioners Lisa Collier, Mike Hayward, and John Hillock will render the final decision on this legislative matter. Advocacy groups and project supporters are urging residents to attend, testify in person, and show strong support for extending the future trail-with-rail corridor west beyond the Wallowa city limits.
Organizers note that phone calls, written comments, and letters submitted through their online form are still being accepted. All previously received testimony will be forwarded to commissioners ahead of the hearing, but they emphasize that “nothing beats showing up in person” on December 17.
