Tigard, OR. — A Tigard neighborhood saw a large early-morning police presence Wednesday after officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving a reported weapon. The situation ended with the safe arrest of the suspect, identified as Jaycob Holten.
The incident began at 7:11 a.m. when a caller reported that Holten was at a home near SW Steve Street and SW 82nd Avenue and might be armed. Family members were inside and unable to leave, and officers had already been investigating Holten for a serious assault on a woman earlier in the morning at a different location.
Given concerns for the family’s safety, Tigard Police requested assistance from the Washington County Tactical Negotiations Team. Before the specialized team arrived, Holten agreed to exit the residence and was taken into custody without incident at 7:52 a.m.
Holten is being booked into the Washington County Jail on multiple charges related to both the alleged assault and the domestic disturbance. He also has an outstanding felony warrant, which will be added to the booking.
Police said they are grateful no one inside the home was injured and thanked partnering agencies for their rapid response.
