Hillsboro, OR. — A Washington County jury has found 39-year-old Matthew Allan Stehr guilty of multiple felony sex crimes involving a child, the Washington County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
Stehr was convicted on charges including first-degree rape, four counts of first-degree sodomy, seven counts of first-degree sexual abuse, and luring a minor. Deputy District Attorney Rayney Meisel prosecuted the case before Judge Hafez Daraee.
Prosecutors said Stehr repeatedly sexually abused the victim over a span of roughly seven years. The abuse was first uncovered in 2021, when the child disclosed what was happening during a therapy session. The therapist, a mandatory reporter, notified the victim’s mother, who confronted Stehr. According to prosecutors, he did not deny the allegations.
The victim later provided further details during a medical evaluation at CARES Northwest.
“The jury’s verdict is a testament to the child’s courage in coming forward and speaking up,” DDA Meisel said. “While nothing can undo the harm that was done, we hope this verdict provides a measure of justice and a path towards healing for the victim and their mother.”
The District Attorney’s Office commended the victim for reporting the abuse and recognized the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and CARES Northwest for their investigative and support roles.
Stehr is scheduled to be sentenced on February 18, 2026.
