Vancouver, WA. — An early-morning house fire displaced a family of four in east Vancouver on Sunday, though no injuries were reported.
The Vancouver Fire Department was dispatched at 7:17 a.m. to the 15000 block of NE 4th Circle after neighbors called 911, reporting flames “coming from the roof.” Neighbors were able to alert the residents, who evacuated safely before firefighters arrived.
Crews reached the scene within five minutes and found smoke and flames coming from the front of the home. Firefighters advanced hose lines inside the structure to attack the blaze while additional crews cut ventilation holes in the roof with chainsaws. The fire had spread into the attic but was largely extinguished within 10 minutes.
A total of eight fire units and 22 firefighters responded. Two adults and two children were displaced, and the Red Cross was requested to assist them.
The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
