Grants Pass, OR. — According to a document from November 21, 2025, the City of Grants Pass released its latest City Manager’s Weekly Report detailing progress across parks, public works, and public safety operations.
The Parks Division received new tree canopy materials and roughly 40 additional trees, which will be planted at local elementary schools through an Oregon Department of Forestry Urban & Community Forestry Grant. Staff also completed retrenchment pruning on an aging oak at Riverside Park, removed safety-impacting trees at Reinhart Volunteer Park, and planted about 100 Ponderosa pine saplings on Dollar Mountain to restore canopy in previously logged or burned areas.
Crews continued installing seasonal snowflake lights downtown ahead of December’s Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Public Works teams reported significant progress on multiple infrastructure projects, bringing Sedimentation Basin 3 online at the water treatment plant, abandoning an old water valve conflicting with ODOT ramp work, and conducting wastewater solids testing that consistently exceeds DEQ standards with 95–97% removal. Staff also identified deteriorating clay sewer mains requiring repairs and resumed sidewalk hazard mitigation and drainage maintenance following fire season.
Construction continued across several improvement projects, including Hillcrest Drive, Allen Creek Road, Safe Routes to Schools at Lincoln Elementary, Silverbrook PUD, and the Meadowood Phase 2 development, with crews installing sidewalks, storm drains, and sewer mains.
Police reported 553 calls for service, 42 arrests, 80 traffic stops, and 24 DHS referrals, while the Community Response Team made 53 contacts and completed 64 park checks. Fire Rescue crews responded to 78 incidents, including medical calls, lift assists, and rescues.
The report also lists several ongoing openings on City committees, including positions in the Bikeways and Walkways Committee, Urban Tree Advisory Committee, Budget Committee, Public Art Committee, and Tourism Advisory Committee.
