Eugene, OR. — A new regional transit option connecting communities along the 99W corridor will officially launch Monday, November 24. The pilot project, known as 99 Vine, is a partnership between Yamhill County and Benton County and will offer fareless weekday bus service between McMinnville and Eugene, including two stops in Corvallis.
The new route will serve eight communities: McMinnville, Amity, Rickreall, Monmouth, Corvallis (both Oregon State University and downtown), Monroe, Junction City, and Eugene. Passengers will have access to four round trips per day, making travel through the Willamette Valley easier and more accessible than ever.
Earlier this year, the counties selected Pacific Crest Bus Lines to operate the service. Full schedules will be available November 24 on the Pacific Crest website.
99 Vine is funded as a six-month pilot project through state and regional transit grants. In Corvallis, the new service will connect with the fareless Corvallis Transit System, offering additional local and regional mobility options.
The counties will evaluate ridership and performance over the pilot period to determine long-term viability.
