Eugene, OR. — The Lane County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Eugene man on 20 child sex abuse charges following an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation.
At approximately 7 a.m. on November 20, sheriff’s detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1900 block of Dogwood Drive in Eugene as part of an ongoing child exploitation inquiry led by the Lane County ICAC Task Force.
On November 21, investigators arrested Andrew Edmund Goble, 72, of Eugene. He was lodged at the Lane County Jail on 10 counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the First Degree and 10 counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the Second Degree.
The investigation involved assistance from the Lane County District Attorney’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Authorities say the arrest is part of continuing efforts among local, state, and federal agencies to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable members of the community. The investigation remains active, and no further details have been released.
