Tillamook County, OR. — The Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office arrested Alexander Eaton on November 12, 2025, after a two-day manhunt in the rugged Cape Lookout area.
The pursuit began the previous day when Eaton allegedly fled from deputies, leading officers on a vehicle chase that ended at the Cape Lookout trailhead. Eaton abandoned his car and ran into the surrounding forest, prompting an extended search effort with support from the Oregon State Police and the Lincoln City Police K-9 Unit.
Deputies continued tracking Eaton through November 12. According to the Sheriff’s Office, K-9 Nix from Lincoln City Police located Eaton hiding under a log inside Cape Lookout State Park. He was taken into custody without incident.
Eaton is suspected of eluding a police officer, reckless endangering, first-degree burglary, and first-degree criminal mischief. No injuries occurred during the pursuit or arrest, though state park property was damaged during the incident.
The investigation remains active.
