Oregon City, OR. — A man who broke into a Les Schwab store and attempted to steal thousands of dollars in tires was convicted Wednesday by a Clackamas County jury.
Steven Allen Beaman, 45, was found guilty of Burglary in the Second Degree and Theft in the First Degree following a two-day trial in Clackamas County Circuit Court (Case No. 25CR17195).
Oregon City police responded to an alarm at the Les Schwab Tire Center at 1625 Beavercreek Road just after 6 a.m. on March 26, 2025. Officers arrived to see a tire rolling out of an open door and a person fleeing toward nearby woods. A 2019 Ram pickup parked next to the building contained eight new tires valued at $2,667.92. The vehicle was registered to Beaman.
Police contacted Ashley Marie Anderson, 29, in the parking lot near the truck. Her purse was found inside the vehicle. Anderson initially claimed a man named “Brandon” had driven her home, but later told investigators that Beaman had driven from Portland to Oregon City, entered the store, and loaded the truck with stolen tires.
Shortly after the burglary, Beaman reported his truck stolen. He later consented to a search of his phone, which revealed a recent internet search for “Les Schwab.” A warrant-based search of his phone data confirmed he was at the store when the search occurred.
Jurors deliberated for about 90 minutes before returning a guilty verdict. Beaman is scheduled for sentencing on November 13.
Prosecutors noted that Beaman has multiple prior convictions over the past 25 years, including burglary, theft, drug possession, and rape in the third degree. Anderson faces related burglary and theft charges, and a warrant is outstanding for her arrest.
The case was prosecuted by Senior Deputy District Attorney Stacey Borgman.
