Grants Pass, OR. — The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is just four weeks away, bringing festive cheer to downtown once again. The city’s large Christmas tree will be delivered on Monday, December 1, and placed at its traditional location at 5th and G streets. Crews will spend several days decorating the tree and transforming the area into a holiday plaza before the official lighting ceremony on Friday, December 5.
To accommodate the festivities, G Street between 4th and 6th streets and 5th Street between G and H streets will be closed from noon to 11 p.m. The event will feature 30 local vendors offering crafts, gifts, and holiday treats, horse-drawn carriage rides, live music, and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Children can enjoy “sock skating” at the temporary rink set up in the Children’s Museum parking lot.
Performances begin at 5:15 p.m. with the Rogue Singers, followed by Mrs. Claus at 6 p.m. City officials will give remarks at 6:45, before a special guest from the North Pole lights the tree at 7 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet visitors afterward at the Downtown Welcome Center.
The city encourages residents to come early, explore vendor booths along G Street, and enjoy an evening filled with music, lights, and community spirit. Updates and additional details will be posted as they become available.
