Battle Ground, WA. — The Battle Ground Police Department (BGPD) is investigating a series of overnight vehicle break-ins that have occurred across multiple residential neighborhoods over the past few evenings.
Reports have come in from the Creekside Heights area (near NE 142nd Avenue and NE 17th Street), Mill Creek Meadows (near NW 4th Street and NW 15th Avenue), and other parts of the city. The incidents typically occurred between midnight and 5:00 a.m.
Because the crimes have taken place on opposite sides of town, investigators believe the suspect or suspects are using a vehicle to move between neighborhoods.
With help from residents, BGPD obtained several surveillance photos showing what appears to be the same individual involved in multiple incidents. However, due to the limited image quality, police have not ruled out the possibility of multiple suspects.
Suspect Description
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately in his late 20s to late 30s, with a closely shaved head and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored top, a dark green or brown hooded jacket, blue jeans, a black beanie, a black neck gaiter, and black high-top sneakers with white shoelaces.
Anyone with information about these incidents or the suspect is urged to contact the Battle Ground Police Department at (360) 342-5200. Callers may remain anonymous.
Prevention Tips
BGPD has increased patrols in affected areas and is asking residents to take preventive measures. Police emphasize that most vehicle prowls happen when cars are left unlocked or valuables are visible. Residents are encouraged to:
- Lock it up: Always lock doors and close all windows, even when parked at home.
- Hide valuables: Remove or conceal bags, electronics, or wallets.
- Light it up: Keep driveways and porches well-lit with motion lights.
- Check cameras: Ensure home security or doorbell cameras are working.
- Report activity: Call 911 for emergencies or 311 to report suspicious behavior.
Police say a few simple nightly precautions can help reduce thefts and keep neighborhoods safer.
