Clackamas County, OR. — The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office continues the search for 51-year-old hunter Devon Dobek of Hubbard, who went missing Friday evening while hunting about 20 miles southeast of Estacada in the Mount Hood National Forest.
Dobek’s truck was found near the Fish Creek Trailhead off SE Highway 224, but there was no sign of him or the deer he had reportedly harvested. Friends described him as an experienced hunter with proper equipment.
Since early Saturday, more than 20 searchers have deployed on foot and by ATV, drone, and K9 teams. Once weather conditions improved, the Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit joined with a Cessna 182 aircraft to aid from above.
Additional search partners include Mountain Wave Search and Rescue, Pacific Northwest Search and Rescue, Hood River Crag Rats, Portland Mountain Rescue, and the Lake Oswego Police Department Drone Team. On Sunday, teams from Washington, Multnomah, and Marion Counties are expected to assist.
The Sheriff’s Office has received offers from the public to help but is not requesting additional volunteers at this time. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 503-723-4949 and reference Case #25-022972.
