Hillsboro, OR. – On Thursday, October 30, 2025, shortly after 9 a.m., Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported bomb threat inside the courthouse at 145 NE 2nd Avenue.
Court attendees and staff were immediately evacuated to a safe area outside as deputies, supported by the Portland Metro Explosives Disposal Unit, the FBI, the ATF, and the Port of Portland, conducted a thorough room-by-room search of the courthouse and nearby buildings.
No explosive devices were found, and investigators believe the threat was a hoax. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the origin of the call.
Court sessions that were interrupted will be rescheduled, while hearings scheduled after 1:00 p.m. resumed as planned.
