Lebanon, OR. — The Lebanon Fire District is celebrating four recent promotions that highlight the dedication, professionalism, and community spirit of its members. Each individual’s advancement reflects years of hard work, leadership, and a deep commitment to serving the citizens of Lebanon.
Fire Marshal – Candace Hedding
After more than 33 years of service, Candace Hedding has been promoted to Fire Marshal. Starting as a resident volunteer in 1992, she has served in nearly every role within the district, from paramedic to deputy fire marshal. She remains the department’s only Juvenile Fire-Setter Interventionist and has earned multiple technical and instructional certifications. Hedding says she’s proud to have built her career in the same community where she grew up.
Deputy Fire Marshal – Jason Adamson
Jason Adamson, who began as a volunteer in 2005, steps into his new role as Deputy Fire Marshal. Over the years, he’s worked as a firefighter, engineer, and lieutenant while earning his paramedic license and associate degree. Adamson says he looks forward to using his operational experience to enhance public education and fire prevention throughout the community.
Lieutenant – Cody Manzi
Cody Manzi, who joined the district in 2018, has been promoted to Lieutenant. His journey began in high school volunteer programs and has included years of training, education, and personal perseverance—even through a cancer diagnosis. Manzi says he hopes to motivate and guide others as he continues developing his leadership skills.
Firefighter – Heath Nance
Heath Nance, a former Air Force firefighter and longtime volunteer, has been promoted to full-time firefighter. Nance joined the district in late 2023 and says he’s grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside such a dedicated team. He looks forward to mentoring the next generation of firefighters and continuing to strengthen the department’s mission.
The Lebanon Fire District says these promotions represent both individual achievement and collective progress toward its ongoing goal: protecting lives, property, and community with integrity and excellence.
