Portland, OR. — A federal grand jury has indicted Alistair Sidener, 20, of Portland, for allegedly damaging security cameras affixed to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building on June 12, 2025.
Sidener made his initial court appearance last Friday before a U.S. Magistrate Judge and was released on conditions pending further proceedings.
The charge of depredation of federal property exceeding $1,000 is a felony punishable by up to ten years in prison.
The case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon.
Since June 13, 2025, federal prosecutors have charged 37 defendants with crimes near ICE facilities, including assault on federal officers, failure to comply, and property damage.
An indictment is only an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
