Portland, OR. —A Portland woman appeared in federal court after allegedly assaulting a federal officer outside a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in South Portland.
According to court records, on October 19, 2025, officers were clearing the vehicle entrance at the ICE facility when 56-year-old Lisa Miyamoto struck an officer with a wooden tambourine. She was arrested on scene.
Miyamoto has been charged by criminal complaint with felony assault of a federal officer, a crime punishable by up to eight years in federal prison.
Since June 13, 2025, the U.S. Attorney’s Office has charged 36 individuals for offenses near ICE facilities, including assaulting officers, failure to comply, and depredation of government property.
Miyamoto made her first court appearance before a U.S. Magistrate Judge and was released on conditions pending further proceedings.
A criminal complaint is an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
