Linn County, OR. – A Lebanon man reported missing was found deceased Saturday afternoon after a coordinated search by Linn County and Lebanon law enforcement.
According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 12:37 p.m. on October 18, a caller picking mushrooms along Upper Calapooia Drive and Blue River Reservoir Road discovered an unoccupied vehicle. Deputies traced the license plate to Donald Carroll, who had been listed as a missing person by the Lebanon Police Department.
Linn County deputies and Lebanon Police detectives responded to the scene, joined by the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team with specialized equipment. Using a drone, searchers located Carroll’s body about 150 to 200 feet down a steep, wooded canyon. The Linn County Medical Examiner and members of Carroll’s family responded to the scene. Authorities said there is no indication of foul play.
Linn County Search and Rescue performed a technical recovery of Carroll’s body, which was transported to Huston Jost Funeral Home at the family’s request.
The Lebanon Police Department expressed gratitude to all who assisted in the search and extended condolences to Carroll’s family, friends, and loved ones.
