Eugene, OR. — Eugene Police reported a series of impaired driving arrests over the weekend, from October 10–12, following several crashes and traffic stops across the city.
At 8:43 p.m. on October 10, an officer patrolling near West 11th Avenue and Danebo Avenue observed a Ram pickup exit The Keg without stopping and accelerate rapidly. The driver, 46-year-old Jermaine Ignatious Richards, was stopped at Royal Avenue and North Danebo Avenue. After investigation, Richards was cited in lieu of custody for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII). (Case 25-16452)
At 5:18 p.m. on October 11, officers responded to a crash at North Delta Highway near Valley River Center involving a Toyota 4Runner that rear-ended a Toyota Matrix. The 4Runner’s driver, 26-year-old Jordan Hurtado of Salem, was suspected of impairment and arrested for DUII and Reckless Endangering. (Case 25-16474)
Later that evening, at 7:36 p.m., a second crash occurred at North Delta Highway and Ayres Drive. A Honda Accord, driven by 43-year-old Brandis Nicole Zaring, reportedly turned into oncoming traffic and struck a Hyundai Santa Fe head-on. Zaring was arrested and lodged in the Lane County Jail for DUII, Reckless Endangering, and Reckless Driving. (Case 25-16481)
In the early morning hours of October 12, at 1:22 a.m., officers observed a Dodge Ram 1500 driving north in the southbound lanes of Highway 99 North. The driver, 44-year-old Mark Thomas Pyle, was arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail for DUII. (Case 25-16497)
Less than an hour later, at 2:10 a.m., officers stopped a red Honda Civic seen speeding and swerving on eastbound I-105. The driver, 19-year-old Jobany Facundo Murillo, was cited for DUII, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering, along with violations for speeding and minor in possession of alcohol. (Case 25-16498)
